Individual rarities, key dates, type coins, gold coins and complete sets of U.S. coinage.
Rare Coins & Paper Money
I specialize in buying rare coins, paper money, individual rarities and complete collections, with a particular interest in Washington State National Bank Notes.
A Collector First
My interest in rare coins and paper money began at the age of ten, and I have been buying, selling and studying them ever since.
Whether you have a single coin you've always wondered about, a few notes tucked away in a drawer, or a collection assembled over a lifetime, I'm glad to take a look and talk it through with you.
Rare coins and paper money can carry value you won't see at first glance. When I look at a piece, I'm weighing date, mint mark, variety, condition, scarcity and collector demand.

From a single rarity to a room full of albums, I think every collection is worth a conversation.
Individual rarities, key dates, type coins, gold coins and complete sets of U.S. coinage.
Large-size and small-size notes, fractional currency and other collectible paper money.
I buy Nationals from banks across the country, and I especially want notes from Washington State and Wyoming.
Wyoming Notes →Collections and accumulations assembled over years or even generations.
A Special Interest
From 1863 to 1935, nationally chartered banks across the country issued their own currency. Each note was printed with the name of the issuing bank, its town and its charter number. Collectors call them “Nationals.” I am actively buying notes issued by banks in Washington, from the territorial era through statehood.
Notes issued before Washington became a state in 1889, when the banks were in Washington Territory.
Many small-town banks issued only a limited number of notes, and few survive today.
Both the earlier large-size notes and the small-size notes issued from 1929 to 1935.
I'm glad to see one note from a family drawer or a collection built bank by bank.
Common Questions
Both. I buy individual rarities as well as complete collections and accumulations.
National Bank Notes were U.S. currency issued from 1863 to 1935 by nationally chartered banks. Each note carries the name of the issuing bank, its town and its charter number, which is why collectors often focus on a particular state or town.
It may be. Value depends on the bank, the town, the type of note and its condition, and some Washington banks issued very few notes. Send me a photo of the front and back and I can tell you more.
No, please don't. Cleaning can permanently alter a coin's surfaces and may significantly reduce its collector value. I'd rather see it just as you found it.
Not necessarily. Before paying to have coins or notes graded, call me first. I'll tell you honestly whether it makes sense for what you have.
Yes. I work with families and estates regularly. You may also find my estate & probate appraisals page helpful.
