I purchase significant rare coin and paper money collections, estates and accumulations, and I'm willing to travel throughout the continental United States to see them.
A Personal Approach
I believe a collection, especially one built over a lifetime or passed down through a family, deserves more than a quick glance across a counter.
When you call, you talk to me, Bill Lorman, and you'll keep talking to me from start to finish. I'll listen to what you have, ask the questions that matter and explain how I see it.
Whether you're handling an inherited collection, settling an estate, or simply ready to sell a collection assembled over a lifetime, distance doesn't necessarily stand in the way.
How It Works
Every collection is different, but almost every one I've bought started the same way: with a conversation.
Call or send a message. Tell me what you know about the collection, even if it isn't much.
Photos, inventories, notes or a rough description all help me understand what you have.
For significant collections and estates, I can travel to see the material in person.
I'll walk you through what I see and make an offer. The decision is always yours.
What I Purchase
I buy carefully cataloged rarities, boxes accumulated over decades, and material nobody in the family has looked at in years.

Significant collection or estate? I am willing to travel throughout the continental United States to see it.
There is no need to decide whether your collection is “large enough” before contacting me. Start with a conversation.
Discuss Your CollectionCommon Questions
For significant collections and estates, yes. I am willing to travel throughout the continental United States. Call me and I'll walk you through how it works.
No. Many people who contact me have inherited a collection and know very little about it. Tell me what you can and I'll take it from there.
Please don't clean anything. Cleaning can permanently reduce a coin's value. I'd also ask you to leave coins and notes in their original holders, albums and envelopes, and to keep any records or labels with them.
Possibly. If the estate needs a written appraisal or valuation, see my estate & probate appraisals page, or just call me and tell me what you need.
Let's Talk
Tell me what you have, roughly where it is, and the best way to reach you. You don't need to know exactly what's in it.
